First Look at the New Neopets TCG!

Upper Deck has shared a first look at the new Neopets TCG - now releasing in 2024.

Become the champion of the Battledome and uncover the wonders of Neopia in this fast-paced 2-player trading card game. Neopets Battledome TCG features a unique dice combat system, innovative deck building strategies, and over 20 Neopets to collect!

With over 250 unique pieces of custom art, the nostalgia of Neopets is brought to life with exquisite artwork on each card. Update July 26th: Upper Deck has announced that while the promo card set that will be available at Gen Con will be slightly different (Blue Shoyru - like on the avatar - with different stats, and Har Codestone instead of Mau) the code will award the same avatar. Additionally they will have the playmats available as a gift with purchase.

Neopets Graphic Novels Announced!

A series of Neopets Graphic Novels has been announced, with the first launching in summer of 2024.

The first book, titled Neopets: The Omelette Faerie is written by NYT bestselling author Rebecca Mix (who incidentally got her start in writing on the RP Neoboards!) and illustrated by Heather Burns. Shoutout to Erinn Pascal (of cookbook fame) for editing.

Here is a brief summary from the author:

When the Giant Omelette goes rotten and Neopets begin to come down with Ugga Ugga, and a strange, intrepid Faerie that’s lost her magic appears and tells Sabre-X she thinks the cure is hidden deep in Tyrannia, the two will have to set aside their mistrust & set out to solve the mystery before it’s too late.

Neopets SDCC News

Today, Neopets has announced their plans for this year's San Diego Comic-Con, happening July 19-23 at the San Diego Convention Center. Neopets will be at booth #1129 and will feature:

Exclusive, never-before-seen merchandise, meet the Neopets Team, purchase bespoke art prints signed by a TNT artist, and connect with special guest Erinn Pascal, Editor of Neopets: The Official Cookbook.

Throughout the week, you’ll be able to purchase exclusive “Neostalgia” items at the booth, including:

Friday, July 21 from 7:30pm-11:30pm, at Deck665.

The free, fully immersive event will be a throwback to “an era when dial-up internet, chat rooms, and the Neoboards reigned supreme”. You’ll step into a world focused on the past, present, and future of Neopets with a live DJ, Neopian-themed food and drinks, photo ops, and swag bags of exclusive merch. There will also be a “LEGENDARY” reveal for those in attendance, as well as games, photo-ops, and more.

General admission tickets can be picked up at Booth #1129, but a select number of VIP tickets will be available to win, with giveaway details coming soon. Capacity is limited and general admission tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What's Your Passion Jewelry will also be at booth (#1129) and have their own exclusive pins including a free Rainbow Metallic Paint Brush Pin that's free with any $45 purchase. These will also be available online (while supplies last) during the show. Click here for info.

Upper deck will also have a limited edition Neopets Battledome trading card game promotional pack: a six-card set which includes two SDCC-exclusive cards that also includes a code for an exclusive avatar for sale at their booth (#307)!

Just Announced: Visit UCC Distributing at booth #5613 for the launch of a new series of UC Pet blind box pins in partnership with What's Your Passion Jewelry. SDCC Update

Additionally, Be sure to stop by UCC Distributing's booth (#5613) for a new set of UC Blind Box pins! There are 13 in the set (12 plus one chase variant) and each comes with a code for an exclusive virtual item (code cards are what's pictured below.)

Update 7/1: The (almost) full set of UC Blind Box pins has been shared by Neopets. The rare chase variant will be a Baby Kougra with a circle background, but what will the 12th pin be? (gold/silver pet pins in the photo are not part of the blind box set, they're WYP's SDCC exclusives.)

Neopets Cookbook Launches Today!

The Neopets community has long wished for a cookbook of Neopian foods, and the Soup Faerie has pulled through with a little help from her friends at Andrews McMeel Publishing. Neopets: The Official Cookbook launches June 13th, 2023, wherever books are sold.

The book (available as a beautiful hardcover edition or digital) features over 40 recipes from across Neopia and is beautifully illustrated with artwork direct from the Neopets Team as well as photographs of every recipe.

The recipes are broken down into three categories: Savory, Omelettes, and Sweets, and dishes from Neopia Central, Tyrannia, Faerieland, and even the Alien Aisha Vending Machine are featured, so you absolutely can have a full Neopian meal with a Cup of Hot Borovan to wash it down.

The Hot Borovan recipe comes straight from TNT's archives and the remaining recipes were created especially for the book. The recipes range in difficulty from super easy to a little bit challenging, so everyone can enjoy cooking their favourite Neopian food!

Many of the recipes are also great to cook with kids. Neopia Brownies, for example, are a simple brownie recipe which kids will enjoy making and then moulding fondant to make it look like the Neopian globe.

Each recipe offers great tips for vegetarian and vegan friends (soy curls or seitan in place of beef in the Meaty Asparagus Dish for example) and each recipe also includes a fun fact about the item that inspired it. (Don’t bake your Tonu Negg Lasagna, he will come down with a case of the Neezles!)

The book also has Random Events throughout!

All in all, this cookbook was a true labor of love created by Neopians for Neopians (the books co-author/editor plays daily), and if you’ve ever said to yourself “wow, that food my Neopet is eating looks great, I wish I could have some” you will love this book.

It’s available wherever books are sold (including internationally!) Your local independent bookstore will be able to order it for you if they don’t have it in stock. It can also be requested at your local library, and it’s available digitally at Amazon.

No matter how you read it, buying it in print or digital, borrowing from the library or a friend, be sure to check out the last page for a code that will award an exclusive avatar at Grundo Warehouse!
