The Neopets community has long wished for a cookbook of Neopian foods, and the Soup Faerie has pulled through with a little help from her friends at Andrews McMeel Publishing. Neopets: The Official Cookbook launches June 13th, 2023, wherever books are sold.
The book (available as a beautiful hardcover edition or digital) features over 40 recipes from across Neopia and is beautifully illustrated with artwork direct from the Neopets Team as well as photographs of every recipe.
The recipes are broken down into three categories: Savory, Omelettes, and Sweets, and dishes from Neopia Central, Tyrannia, Faerieland, and even the Alien Aisha Vending Machine are featured, so you absolutely can have a full Neopian meal with a Cup of Hot Borovan to wash it down.
The Hot Borovan recipe comes straight from TNT's archives and the remaining recipes were created especially for the book. The recipes range in difficulty from super easy to a little bit challenging, so everyone can enjoy cooking their favourite Neopian food!
Many of the recipes are also great to cook with kids. Neopia Brownies, for example, are a simple brownie recipe which kids will enjoy making and then moulding fondant to make it look like the Neopian globe.
Each recipe offers great tips for vegetarian and vegan friends (soy curls or seitan in place of beef in the Meaty Asparagus Dish for example) and each recipe also includes a fun fact about the item that inspired it. (Don’t bake your Tonu Negg Lasagna, he will come down with a case of the Neezles!)
The book also has Random Events throughout!
All in all, this cookbook was a true labor of love created by Neopians for Neopians (the books co-author/editor plays daily), and if you’ve ever said to yourself “wow, that food my Neopet is eating looks great, I wish I could have some” you will love this book.
It’s available wherever books are sold (including internationally!) Your local independent bookstore will be able to order it for you if they don’t have it in stock. It can also be requested at your local library, and it’s available digitally at Amazon.
